With the winter dragging on, February can be a particularly tough month to stay on top of your wellness goals. So to help our clients stay motivated through to the spring, we’ve introduced a healthy dose of competition.
“FAB-YOU-ary” kicked off with a day of fitness and cooking demonstrations, prizes, and healthy snacks at Audubon Hall in Washington Heights and Jasper Hall in the Bronx. Personal trainer David Brand led clients and staff in strength and flexibility exercises such as squats, lunges and curls, using body weight and resistance bands, and trainer Miki Henkin led a Zumba class. In cooking classes, clients learned how to make homemade hummus, pita chips and a green power smoothie.
For eight weeks, we’ll be tracking everyone’s participation in wellness-related activities, including Cardio Fusion, Sculpt and Strengthen, and Zumba classes, personal training, cooking classes, Fresh Food Box, and Health & Wellness workshops. Everyone who reaches their target number of activities (around 1 per week) will win a healthy prize, such as a rice cooker, blender, or yoga mat.
