Kenneth Cooper oversees four Lantern sites, three in upper Manhattan and one in Brooklyn.
With 20 years experience in providing services to underserved populations, Ken has worked in the fields of mental health, HIV/AIDS and homelessness. Prior to joining Lantern in 2017 Ken was Director of Social Services at the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Women’s Mental Health Shelter at the Park Avenue Armory. Prior to that Ken worked at Service Program for Older People (SPOP) for 14 years in a variety of roles, ending his tenure with seven years as Assistant Director of Adult Day Services.
Ken has an M.S.W. from the Hunter College School of Social Work and is an LCSW-R in New York State. He also has a Certificate in Social Work Field Instruction (SIFI) since 2003 and was Silberman School of Social Work’s Field Instructor of the Year in 2011.
