Chief Compliance Officer
Michelle Hess manages Lantern’s government contracts to ensure program compliance, oversees the organization’s legal matters, and develops and implements the organization’s policies and procedures.
Prior to joining Lantern Community Services in 2014, Michelle Hess was a senior associate in the litigation department of Holland & Knight, representing clients in all phases of commercial litigation from discovery and dispositive motions practice through trial and appeal. She also assisted clients in responding to government inquiries and subpoenas as well as designing and implementing compliance programs.
Michelle earned her B.A. from Wake Forest University and her J.D. from George Mason University. Following graduation from George Mason University, Michelle served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Dennis J. Smith of the 19th Judicial District of Virginia.
