Lantern Community Services has transformed the lives of hundreds of previously homeless families through our onsite family-friendly services. Our work strengthens and stabilizes families; helps parents develop and strengthen their parenting skills; and provides extensive opportunities for families to grow and learn together.

Along with our extensive employment, educational, and health services, we provide areas where children and their parents can relax, play, and explore together. In some of our sites, community gardens offer families the delight of growing their own nutritious produce. In other sites, children’s recreational rooms feature age-appropriate educational toys, children’s books, and games – a place to learn, play, and socialize.

Our family-oriented arts, culture, and fitness  programming includes outings to museums, dance classes, yoga, and art-making activities that promote strong family bonds while enriching child and parent alike. Each summer, we assist families in arranging for the children in our housing to attend local summer camps where they can get outside, make new friends, and experience new adventures.
